Radio& Comms

Police radio earpieces, two-wire microphone systems and service components for controlled, discreet communication. Start with the connector—not the earpiece.

The first specification

Compatibility before comfort.

A radio earpiece is a system, not a universal accessory. The radio or speaker microphone model, socket type and intended function must align before comfort, cable routing or earpiece style can be considered.

This collection brings together CodeRED and CRS listen-only earpieces, two-wire microphone kits, ear moulds and replacement components for selected communications equipment used by Australian police and security members.

Compatibility note: product names may reference a plug size or connector family, but that alone does not guarantee fit. Confirm the specific radio or speaker microphone model and connector before ordering.
Connection protocol

Check four points.

A plug that looks right may still be electrically or mechanically incompatible. Use the full equipment identity—not appearance alone.

01

Identify the connection point

Confirm whether the earpiece connects directly to the portable radio or to a remote speaker microphone.

02

Record the exact equipment model

Use the manufacturer and complete model designation. Connector families can differ across equipment from the same brand.

03

Match the function

Decide whether the member needs listen-only audio or a system with microphone and push-to-talk capability.

Select fit and service parts

Once the electronics match, choose the ear side, mould or insert style, cable routing and any replacement components required.

Radio & comms FAQ

Before you order.

Are 2.5mm and 3.5mm radio earpieces interchangeable?

No. Plug diameter, threading, wiring and the equipment socket all matter. Select the exact option specified for the radio or speaker microphone model rather than relying on plug appearance.

What is the difference between listen-only and two-wire systems?

A listen-only earpiece routes received audio to the ear and normally relies on the radio or speaker microphone for transmission. A two-wire system separates the earpiece from a microphone or push-to-talk assembly. Product capability and compatibility vary by model.

Can I replace only the airtube, mould or eartip?

Often, provided the replacement component is designed for the existing earpiece system. Match the component family and product description carefully; similar-looking parts are not always interchangeable.
