A useful communications setup begins with function, not connector code. Decide whether you need receive-only audio, separated microphone and PTT control, or replacement parts for an existing acoustic-tube system.
Route incoming radio audio to the ear while retaining the radio or remote speaker microphone for transmission.
Separate the earpiece from the microphone and PTT line for discreet routing, flexible placement and reduced cable concentration.
Replace high-contact and wear components without discarding a complete working earpiece system.

QD refers to the acoustic-tube quick-disconnect system. It does not make the radio connector universal.
Compatibility control
Radio audio accessories can share the same broad plug size while using different threading, wiring or pin configurations. Confirm the complete equipment path before purchase.
Determine whether the earpiece connects to a remote speaker microphone or directly to the portable radio.
Use the full radio and speaker-microphone model numbers. Do not rely on brand name or visual appearance alone.
Choose the 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, M2 or M7 product only after the equipment path has been confirmed.
Serviceable by design
Ear moulds, inserts and acoustic tubes are the components most exposed to contact, movement and routine wear. Replace the part that needs attention and retain the working system.
